Bria, Aylith, and Caden

Updated: Apr 26, 2022

Italian was the inspiration for Aylith, Caden, and Bria's complexion. Aylith has light warm pink skin with undertones of olive while Caden is more tan from days in the sun and Bria is on the paler honey side as she often spent time indoors reading. Their ancestors have resided in the midst of Mythera for generations with some mingling and integration of other peoples to their bloodlines. Each shares the same ridge on their nose with Aylith holding the most noticeable of the three.

Bria's (Bree-ah) youth was mostly spent reading and writing as she is highly intelligent. Her father noticed this when she was about three and set up lessons with the bookkeeper to increase his eldest child's skills. As a child, Bria dreamed of becoming a scholar in a faraway land and traveling the world. She was fascinated with stories of the elven realm and would research them for hours in the bookkeeper's study. The old man would have to boot her from his home multiple times as Bria would be deeply engrossed in the books. Later she learned of the Strigoi in an older book on the keeper's shelves. Bria marveled at the strange tales. She was well-read and often held engaging conversations with the keeper and locals.

Aylith (AY-lith) loved to help her father during harvest time as she enjoyed baking bread after the wheat was ground. She would rise early in the morning and finish her work around noon before the sun got too hot. The few hours in the toasty air would cause her freckles to blossom on her skin. Aylith didn't like to be hot and would quickly retreat into the cooler climate of their home. Then Aylith would help prep the meals and proof the loaves alongside her papa. After a long day, Aylith would cut a fresh piece of crusty bread, slather it in butter and honey, and bring it to Bria. Then she would sit and listen to Bria read the stories from the borrowed books by the fire until the moon rose high in the sky.

Caden (CAI-den) works from dawn to dusk in the forge, which is only partly covered. His free time is spent romping with friends, which attributes to his darker complexion. One of his favorite pass-times is to lie in a grassy field on a summer day and listen to the hum of insects. Summer is his favorite season and he always found it unfortunate that he was born in autumn. This quiet time under the sun further enriches his skin.
